No more PPSMI....

As always being predicted, the news on the abolishment of PPSMI was not a shock. But the shocking thing was…Why suddenly there are reports on bad student’s achievements in math and science? All this while, whenever the UPSR, PMR and SPM results came out, everything was good and the students were performing very well with the new policy. But now? Were all the reports previously done just to deceive our people?

I do have a very firm believe that teaching Maths and Science in English was not the medium to enhance our quality of English. Maths and Science are content subjects, it is difficult to attract and gain the student’s interest to the subjects as the ‘language’ may scare and hinder them from liking these two critical subjects. So, to all teachers and trainee teachers (especially those who have already devoted and going to devote their 6 years of studies for PPSMI) do accept this with open hearts.

Besides that, English teachers have to double up their teaching time and prepare tons of lesson plans. (nanti sure sampai dah takde idea nak ajo topic ape) This will not inclusive extra-curricular activities. (Banyak keje siut!!) And the best thing is.. no more 5% allowance for teaching Maths and Science. (Economy tengah down… kerajaan kene jimat.

Tapi HANYA DI SELANGOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Huuuuwwwaaaaaaaa…………………
